On July 30 and 31, 2022, the city of Mortagne and the Perche-Canada association will honor the beautiful figure of Pierre Boucher, pioneer of French Canada. Baptized on August 1, 1622 in the parish of Notre-Dame, arrived in Quebec at the age of thirteen, ennobled by Louis XIV, founder of Boucherville (province of Quebec, Canada), father of countless descendants throughout the world, his statue, made in 1922 by sculptor Alfred Laliberté, stands today on the facade of the Parliament of Quebec.

A reproduction was erected in 2017 in front of Boucherville town hall on the occasion of the third centenary of the death of Pierre Boucher.

In 2022, on the occasion of the 4th centenary of his birth, the same statue will stand in Mortagne, like a final milestone intended to remind posterity of the itinerary of this great man, originally from Perche.

With the support of the descendants of Pierre Boucher around the world, and in order to carry out the realization of the statue ordered by the city of Mortagne at the Macheret foundry in Monfort-le-Génois, Perche-Canada is launching a large subscription
